We are not professional photographers, although we like to pretend when we find ourselves in places with beautiful scenery like Iceland. Here are some of our favorites photographs (and even Selfies) from the trip in February 2017 and the memories that they remind us of!
#15 Hallgrimskirkja. Something about this church reminds me of the salt pillars on the Black Sand Beach. Also, it’s really tall.
#14 My handsome husband who didn’t even flinch when I told him we were going out for lunch to get Icelandic Hot Dogs. Love him.
#13 Diamond Beach. Sand and Ice, quite a combination.
#12 The street art in Reykjavik is just my style!
#11 We actually got wet and walked all the way around this waterfall. The sunset as we rounded the last corner was beautiful!
#10 The beautiful view from our hotel in Reykjavik!
#9 Just a little fun with an icepick and my best friend. <3 (my eyes are closed, that's not surprising!)
#8 The Strokkur Geysir. We actually got wet trying to get a picture of this thing up close. I can’t look at pictures of this geysir without laughing at how silly we were to get so close. Oh well, no harm done!
#7 Brian captured this beautiful view of the glacier where we did a glacier hike. All that black ash actually looked beautiful. No wonder they filmed Game of Thrones here.
#6 A selfie, but this photo series is about memories. We actually expected the Blue Lagoon to be a tourist trap and we didn’t expect to spend much time here. However, we loved it and spent the whole afternoon! It’s such a huge place, you could easily get away from the crowds.
#5 Svartifoss, The Black Falls. It was a long uphill hike to get to this place but wow the view was beautiful. Who knew so much brown could be so lovely.
#4 A real seal swimming in the glacier lagoon at Jökulsárlón! Everyone tried to hard to catch a picture of the seals but they are too quick! How lucky I was to catch this one and be able to tell it’s a seal!
#3 This salt pillar at the Black Sand Beach is photographed pretty often, but I love how we were able to catch the sky with all those colors in the background!
#2 This beautiful Iceberg scuplture that we captured in Jökulsárlón. One of the things I loved about this is that this site never looks the same two days in a row as the glaciers melt and make their way to sea. We were lo lucky to catch this neat looking arrangement when we were there!
#1 Rainbow over Gulfoss – Amazing!
Our course we had a couple hundred other pictures that we loved from our trip. We made a Shutterfly Album to capture and organize all of our memories.
