Greece was the very first stop on our honeymoon and we absolutely loved it. The people are so nice and friendly. The food is delicious and pretty healthy. And the weather is fantastic. We can’t wait to go back at some point and spend a couple of weeks in the islands. In the meantime, here are some of our favorite photos from our time in Athens, our 3 island cruise, our afternoon at the Temple of Poseidon, and our 2-day tour to Delphi and Meteora.
You can read about any of these sights by following the below links:
#15 Me in front of one of the Meteora Monasteries when we got tired of listening to the guide and decided to go off and just take pictures instead.
#14 The Temple of Aphaia on the island of Egina. Another beautiful temple.
#13 An amazing pastry that we found at the town below the Meteora monasteries. We called it a “chocolate bomb”.
#12 Erechtheion on the Acropolis. Amazing how they carved these statues to match.
#11 The Theater of Dionysus. Loved the contrast of the black and white marble.
#10 Brian at the Parthenon. Amazing that there aren’t any tourists photobombing!
#9 The cliffs and monasteries at Meteora look like they’re from another world.
#8 The Temple of Poseidon was really stunning. Wish we could’ve captured more of the sea around it. It’s one of those moments where I wish we had a drone and there weren’t any other tourists around to ruin the picture.
#7 Greek tortoise at one of the ancient sites in Athens.
#6 Women aren’t allowed to wear pants at the Meteora monastery, so I had to borrow a “skirt”.
#5 Brian modeling the pistachios and the pistachio goat milk ice cream at Egina.
#6 Me at Delphi.
#5 The cat who stole one of our chicken kabobs in Hydra.
#4 The 2nd best lunch we had, chicken kabobs on the pier in Hydra.
#3 Donkeys lined up at the port of Hydra.
#2 The best lunch we had at Gyristroula near the Acropolis!
#1 Honeymooners out to a fancy dinner at the Electra Palace Roof Garden. A little pixel-y because it’s nighttime, but still what a cool view/memory!
